Oh man guys you are gonna love this when its done, because it’s setting up for one of the questions I get asked most frequently. Hold on to your butts.
“EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT! Escaped convict spirit charged with illegally creating new fauna with magic, as well as returning to his old chaotic ways!”
Discord, spirit of chaos, is currently pending trial. It has become a high profile case and the Equestria media is buzzing with the first big news on the villain since his second escape! Tensions run high, and surprisingly there is a divide on the issue, though the unpopular opinion is the one that sides with his innocence. It seems this is a verdict that might be decided by politics and grudges before it ever reaches the Royal Court. There has been talk of banishment, but what banishment would hold a creature like Discord? Could even the moon stop such a beast? Celestia, though grim, seems confident that she has a good place to tuck the Draconequus, but she would not comment further.
There are a few ways Discord’s trial could go, but there is always hope, and you guys can help! Not convinced he is any good at all? Pinkie doesn’t want to lose him. She’ll answer whatever questions it might take to get ponies on her side.
Just as Pinkie Pie asked you can send letters to Celestia telling her why you think this trial is going unfairly before it even starts, and let her know why you think he’s changed for the better. You can do that by leaving this blog an ask or message!
Other artistically inclined ask blogs, you are welcome to collaborate with this outcome, from something small like using the trial as a newspaper clipping to something bigger. Talking about it? Protesting the trials? Protesting the protestors? Maybe even trying to solve the mystery? I’m aware that this is the most labor intensive kind of participation, so your reward will be higher.

The Burmese Python Initiative is an intermediary adoption program for four species of snake recently added to The Lacey Act as Injurious Species: The Burmese Python (Python Molarus Bivittatus,) the African Rock Python (both Python Sebae Sebae and Python Sebae Natalensis,) and the Yellow Anaconda (Eunectes Notaeus.) All four species, the iconic Burmese Python in particular, have a strong presence in captivity amongst private hobbyists and breeders, as well as a strong presence in the reptile industry. BPI is a program being cooked up now for problems later- with the recent ban of the importation and interstate transport of these animals, state legislations are preparing to change. People unable to keep these giant constrictors need a place for them to go, and should ownership become illegal in any area, current owners will have a hell of a problem.
The Burmese Python Initiative is an answer to the problems this creates. Right now they are preparing to move animals in need before the bill becomes active law within the next 60 days. In only a short time, dedicated herpers have pledged everything from bedding and food for the animals to property and a building to house them. Many have stepped up to be a permanent home for animals in need, myself included. If you are unable to provide a home for a displaced large constrictor, but still want to help, there are many options available. Helping with phone calls and emails, volunteering to man tables at reptile expos, pledging a donation of supplies, all sorts of things.

A very good friend of mine started an Ask blog! She would love to be doing more answers, but nobody is asking her anything else. I’ve mentally collaborated many an amazing thing with this person over the years - just give her some material to world with and she’ll make gold!
Sorry for no answers, I’m working on a big one. We’ll be seeing how Discord got out, and more. I’m going to return to pinkie-was-fucking-amazing-in-the-new-episode inspired doodlethon now.
